The FIMA joins the sorrow and grief of relatives, friends and all those who knew and collaborated with him, for the sudden death of Liuwe Tamminga, one of the leading experts in the Italian organ repertoire of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries and chief organist of the Basilica of S. Petronio in Bologna.
Born in 1953, he dedicated his lifetime to the repertoire of early music on original instruments, both as an organist and as a harpsichordist, soon becoming the most trusted and constant collaborator of Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini, of whose precious instrumental collection, now in San Colombano in Bologna, he has been the curator for many years.
